Cabernac Margarita – Red Wine Cocktail

Cabernac Margarita

Cabernac Margarita

Our Cabernac Margarita is a variation of the beloved margarita cocktail, the addition of the Cabernet Sauvignon adds an additional dimension to the drink not present in the traditional lime and tequila mixture.  Our take on the classic cocktail makes it pair perfectly with any traditional Mexican dish such as enchiladas or a burrito.  Just mix, serve over ice, and enjoy!

History

The origin of the margarita is one that has been debated over the last near century, because of numerous claims made by mixologists throughout Mexico and Texas that they were the first to create it. What is known however, is that it was first served in the late 1930’s, and was so successful that the drink’s recipe quickly made its way into numerous mixology books. In our variation of the cocktail, the full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon adds depth to drink not present in the traditional recipe.

Recipe:

  • 2 oz of Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 oz of Tequila
  • 2 oz of Sparkling lime soda
  • 1 oz of lime juice

How to Prepare the Perfect Cabernac Margarita

First; add the Cabernet Sauvignon, Tequila, and soda in a glass all over ice.  Next, slice a lime into four quarters and squeeze one of them into the cocktail.  Stir the cocktail and garnish with a sliced lime on the rim of the glass.
