My golfing friends often drink beer mixed with lemonade. In England they call this blend of beer and lemonade a “Shandy.”
Though this is an enjoyable drink, I’m more of a white wine drinker. So one day, I decided to experiment with the traditional “Shandy” drink and add some sauvignon blanc and a wedge of lemon. The result was so much more exciting! Since I was using both craft beer and craft wine made in Sonoma County, California, I called it the “Sonoma Shandy.”
- 1/3 cup Sonoma County craft beer (Lagunitas)
- 1/3 cup Sonoma County craft wine (La Tosh)
- 1/3 cup lemonade
- Wedge of lemon
Instructions: Measure and pour the beer, wine, and lemonade into a tall chilled beer glass. Stir. Squeeze in a small wedge of lemon and then drop in cocktail. Drink and enjoy!
